the B-side of club DJs

In each episode a DJ shares a side to their music taste they rarely get to show; not a club set, not what they are usually expected to play. Step into their private world and discover what they grew up listening to, their go-to songs for singing in the shower, their musical guilty pleasures, and more. The music that plays when the after is over and it's time to go home.

Every episode is recorded as a continuous listen on SoundCloud and published as a playlist on Apple Music and YouTube Music. Follow on Instagram and check back for new episodes.

ATA013 with DJ NORTHERN: Perfect Sunday

after the after · 29.08.2025 · all episodes

“You wake up leisurely on a sunny autumn Sunday. The window is open and crisp fresh air creeps in highlighting how warm you are under the covers. Your lover wanders in to join you with fresh hot coffee and your warm bodies cradle each other. The day moves easy, you take your time, you do whatever you feel like. Your apartment is clean and you decide to conquer some of those little jobs you’ve been putting off. You get them done quickly as the day passes. You go for a walk in the sun, it’s cold but you’re well wrapped and feel great. You sit in a café for a while and watch the city go by. You get home as the evening draws in and cook something nice together. Friends may come over later, but maybe not. Either way it’s a perfect Sunday.”
