the B-side of club DJs

In each episode a DJ shares a side to their music taste they rarely get to show; not a club set, not what they are usually expected to play. Step into their private world and discover what they grew up listening to, their go-to songs for singing in the shower, their musical guilty pleasures, and more. The music that plays when the after is over and it's time to go home.

Every episode is recorded as a continuous listen on SoundCloud and published as a playlist on Apple Music and YouTube Music. Follow on Instagram and check back for new episodes.

ATA024 with Marteka Fair: life: deep cuts

after the after · 12.09.2025 · all episodes

“When I was younger, I used to watch Pop-Up Video on VH1 in the early mornings before school. I distinctly remember watching the music video for “Groove is in the Heart” and being captivated not only by the iconoclastic visuals but by the uniqueness of the style of music I was hearing. From then on, I became a collector of tunes from all eras. Whether it be Dee-lite from the 90s or T-Rex from the early 70s. As a constant in my life, music has always been a medium that shows the breadth of the human experience and I wanted to select songs for this playlist that reflected my own experience. Spanning across several genres including New Wave, alternative and leftfield electronica, these tracks have been deep cuts in my personal listening library for years and hold a special place in my heart and memory.”
