after the after

the B-side of club DJs

In each episode a DJ shares a side to their music taste they rarely get to show; not a club set, not what they are usually expected to play. Step into their private world and discover what they grew up listening to, their go-to songs for singing in the shower, their musical guilty pleasures, and more. The music that plays when the after is over and it's time to go home.

Every episode is recorded as a continuous listen on SoundCloud and published as a playlist on Apple Music and YouTube Music. Follow on Instagram and check back for new episodes.

“I left Buenos Aires almost six years ago, and I arrived in Berlin by chance, without knowing anybody here and with barely enough money to cover rent for some months. I came here looking for safety, and I never once left; I had to leave my dear family behind, and I’ve never seen them again since then. Being an immigrant has been a beautiful yet incredibly difficult experience. This city has given me a place where, as a dancer and later a club DJ, I developed a taste for electronic music that helped me both forget and process my troubles. However, I’ve always felt that the music I’d play or listen to at clubs doesn’t invite much introspection, and once the party ended, I’d gravitate more towards melancholic music that tapped into the intense emotions I feel as an immigrant so far away from home. This dissonance inspired me to create ‘after the after’. In the last years, I’ve learned to embrace both sides of me; the person who loves to dance and celebrate life with a smile on his face, and the vulnerable one who a lot of the time feels very lonely, sad, and isolated. This playlist is about the latter.”
