the B-side of club DJs

In each episode a DJ shares a side to their music taste they rarely get to show; not a club set, not what they are usually expected to play. Step into their private world and discover what they grew up listening to, their go-to songs for singing in the shower, their musical guilty pleasures, and more. The music that plays when the after is over and it's time to go home.

Every episode is recorded as a continuous listen on SoundCloud and published as a playlist on Apple Music and YouTube Music. Follow on Instagram and check back for new episodes.

ATA047 with Bobby Got Back: the comedown

after the after · 03.02.2026 · all episodes

“I work in the psychiatry now and one of our therapists recently did a group about emotional decompression, the process of releasing tension in the context of trauma recovery. I tried to keep this process in mind while creating my playlist. This is a soundtrack for the moments just after growth, when you had the most transformative experience and learned so much but it hurt so bad at the same time. An homage to the coexistence of beauty and pain. I organized the playlist in a way that starts with quiet ambient moments and then moves through waves of reflection, reimagination, and integration. Hopefully by the end the listener feels some sense of catharsis and closure. These songs helped me through a lot and I hope they can help you too.”
