“Earlier this week, one of my classmates passed away all of a sudden. Like many in our community, I was shocked, confused and felt a deep loneliness. This is the second time I had been confronted by the sudden death of someone close to me this year, and in these moments I feel like retreating into myself. But I am reminded of how grateful I am to live a single day more. Life is so fleeting, and we must carry this heaviness which is an awareness to how precious life truly is. Death is our true return to the soft and the sublime. Yet, it is always within us, just barely out of reach. This mix is dedicated to our beloved classmate and friend, Howard Haotian Wang, who was the most passionate, kind and loving soul.”

SENAIDA (pronounced shuh-nay-duh) is a Hakka-Canadian transdisciplinary artist, producer, and DJ rooted in the underground scenes of New York and Berlin. Their bold, high-energy, hybrid selections draw from a background as a classically trained concert pianist and sound engineer mentored by Grammy Award–winning producers such as Jim Anderson and Bob Power. Their innovative debut album, KUNST KAPUTT, won an international AI Creative Future Award in 2026 and was featured in MixMag Asia. Named one of Asian Tones’ “Ones to Watch 2026,” SENAIDA has toured across 4 continents, appearing at venues such as The Chocolate Factory, OXI, MONOM, Tempio del Futuro, Groundless Factory, and Grey Space in the Middle. They are the founder of WE ARE THE FUTURE! collective and label, and a former resident DJ at WNYU, XPIZZA and Subtle Radio. Guest mixes on Refuge Worldwide, Operator Radio, No Signal, and Baihui further reflect their commitment to curation as a cyberfeminist scholar and archivist.
