ATA057 with DJ SEX: nostalgia

“My grandmother comes from a small town called “Drama,” and I sometimes use that as an explanation for why I’ve always felt things quite dramatically. I can be soft and playful — but I can also be very serious. I’ve lived in many different places and sometimes I miss an environment or a person who isn’t part of my everyday life anymore. This playlist is about letting nostalgia exist — about giving space to the memories certain songs carry. Music can be a bridge: it connects us to who we were, to who we loved, to what shaped us. I chose these tracks because I’ve listened to them over and over again — and I will continue to do so. Some people even say they think of me when one of them comes on. “This track is Elena,” my aunt says whenever she hears Angie Stone’s Wish I Didn’t Miss You. Enjoy. Miss someone. Remember a place. Let yourself feel, dramatically.”
