the B-side of club DJs

In each episode a DJ shares a side to their music taste they rarely get to show; not a club set, not what they are usually expected to play. Step into their private world and discover what they grew up listening to, their go-to songs for singing in the shower, their musical guilty pleasures, and more. The music that plays when the after is over and it's time to go home.

Every episode is recorded as a continuous listen on SoundCloud and published as a playlist on Apple Music and YouTube Music. Follow on Instagram and check back for new episodes.

ATA068 with maryisonacid: Echoes of my mind

after the after · 05.05.2026 · all episodes

Some songs aren't meant to sit still ,they move through the body, blur the edges between thought and sensation. This playlist comes from that place. It holds memories, quiet wounds without names, and secrets that only surface through sound. There's a sensual thread running through it too, not only explicit, but present in texture: desire, proximity, steam on skin in the morning, moments that almost become touch before dissolving. I called it Echoes of My Mind because it feels like a circulation between my inner world and what escapes it. As if something is constantly exchanged , fragments of my spirit carried outward in sound, and returning slightly transformed. It can be listened to by others as music, but for me it behaves like an echo of thought itself. Inside it, everything coexists: Black Classic music, R&B, divas, electronic pulses, experimental fragments. Not as categories, but as shifting states. This playlist is me, but also everyone and everything, who has passed through me in sound, in memory, in presence, in absence.
