the B-side of club DJs

In each episode a DJ shares a side to their music taste they rarely get to show; not a club set, not what they are usually expected to play. Step into their private world and discover what they grew up listening to, their go-to songs for singing in the shower, their musical guilty pleasures, and more. The music that plays when the after is over and it's time to go home.

Every episode is recorded as a continuous listen on SoundCloud and published as a playlist on Apple Music and YouTube Music. Follow on Instagram and check back for new episodes.

ATA070 with DJ Handbag: Nerves & Belonging

after the after · 19.05.2026 · all episodes

I chose these songs because they map something really personal for me: I'm drawn to music that tells the truth without polishing it. I like tracks that can hold contradiction - confrontation and tenderness, glitter and grief, the human and the uncanny - and still feel grounded. This is the sound that puts me in an alert, warm, slightly haunted state: like moving through the city at night with my senses turned up. It's not „easy listening", it's a kind of orientation, a way of finding home in intensity and letting discomfort, desire and belonging exist in the same room.
